The preliminary average base premium rate for 2026 will remain at $1.55 per $100 of assessable payroll. Subject to final approval by WorkSafeBC’s Board of Directors, this will be the ninth consecutive year that the average base rate has remained at this level.
WorkSafeBC is holding virtual rate information sessions this week during which their finance and assessments team will present on the financial state of the workers’ compensation system, rate and classification changes, and how employers can influence rates through improved health and safety practices. Please visit their stakeholder hub to learn more, register for a session, or provide feedback.
Feedback is accepted until September 30, 2025.
