At it’s October 2014 meeting, WorksafeBC’s Board of Directors approved amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) High Risk Policy (D12?196?2). The amendments became effective on December 1, 2014. The Board of Directors’ resolution is available for reference.
The amendments establish six designated high risk violations and simplify the criteria for determining whether other violations are high risk, for the purposes of OHS penalties and warning letters.
The updated Prevention Manual is available, along with replacement pages for updating the manual.
A preliminary issue version of OHS Guideline G-D12-196-2 (available December 1, 2014), providing practice information regarding the policy, is also available. (OHS Guidelines generally provide information to help interpret and apply the Workers Compensation Act, Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, and OHS Policy.)
