Advocating for trades careers, engaging young people
This month, we attended VRCA’s Bring Trades to Schools event which brought together 300 students from across the Lower Mainland to learn more about what it’s like to be a tradesperson. We were happy to share the booth with Leaders in Trades alumni, Carly Steiman, who is promoting her Tradeswoman exhibit and related community events that launched on October 18th at Gallery 881 in Vancouver.

The ConnectHER Skilled Trades Community Survey
Change in the skilled trades starts with listening. In support of the national ConnectHER project, we’re asking employers, labour, and industry partners to share their perspectives on what’s working, where barriers remain, and how we can move forward together.
Every response — from supervisors to apprentices, HR to job crews — matters. Your insights will help create a more inclusive, supportive skilled trades community.
The survey…
- Is anonymous and confidential
- Takes about 10 minutes
- Is open to all levels — from leadership to job sites
