WorkSafeBC says 420 COVID-19-related work violation orders have been issued to businesses since the provincial state of emergency was declared in mid-March.
The agency has received 2,507 reports of potential COVID-related violations and conducted 14,536 worksite inspections, as of July 31.
Al Johnson, WorkSafeBC’s head of prevention services, says the fact that more than 14,000 inspections have been done and only 420 orders have been issued indicates that the majority of employers are being compliant with their COVID-19 plans.
