On January 1, 2022, the Government of B.C. implemented mandated Paid Sick Leave for employees across British Columbia. Employers are responsible for paying eligible employees five days of sick leave per year.
With the rapid rise of the Omicron variant, many B.C. businesses and organizations are expected to be affected by both “functional closures” and the additional cost associated with the paid sick leave program.
As we continue to navigate the pandemic, the above issues are likely going to affect small- and medium-sized businesses throughout 2022.
This Pandemic Recovery Survey, launched by the BC Chamber of Commerce, is the first in a quarterly series of surveys that will help us understand the actual and expected impacts of these issues on B.C. businesses and will help inform our advocacy efforts. The survey will inform our advocacy efforts and your needs and concerns will be shared directly with government.
Use your voice to strengthen our understanding on how your business will be impacted.
The survey will take ~4 minutes to complete and will close on January 31, 2022, at 4:00pm PST.
