Proposed Surveillance Policy – Feedback Requested

In January 2018, WorkSafeBC’s Board of Directors commissioned an external compensation policy review. The resulting report, entitled Restoring the Balance: A Worker-Centred Approach to Workers’ Compensation Policy, was published April 2018 and contains a number of recommendations. Recommendation #41 is for WorkSafeBC to consider implementing a policy for the appropriate use of video surveillance.

The Policy, Regulation and Research Division is releasing a discussion paper with options on proposed policy regarding the use of surveillance for claims adjudication to stakeholders for comment.

The discussion paper, draft policies, and information on how to provide feedback can be accessed through the following link:

The consultation period for this item will end at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2018. The Board of Directors will consider stakeholder feedback before making a decision on the proposed policy.
