WINNIPEG — The Workers Compensation Act (the Act) Legislative Review Committee 2025-2026 (LRC) has opened the public consultation period for its review process.

The LRC, appointed by the provincial government, is tasked with reviewing the act to make sure it continues to meet the needs of both workers and employers in Manitoba, a release states.

The public has until March 31 to provide their feedback at wcbactreview.com

“We are looking for input from workers, employers, labour unions, industry and safety associations, key stakeholders and encourage any interested Manitobans to visit our website to learn more about our mandate and scope of the review,” says Lawrie Cherniack, LRC chairperson in a statement. “Anyone interested in the future of the workers’ compensation system can participate in the consultation to have their voice heard.”

A consultation paper is available to give context for the consultation.

Once the public consultation period is complete, the LRC will review all submissions and prepare a report outlining its recommendations in December 2026.
