Ralph McGinn

COCA received the following note on May 12, 2020:

I am reaching out to share some very sad news – for our organization, for our province, and for many people, personally. Ralph McGinn, WorkSafeBC’s Board Chair, passed away suddenly yesterday afternoon. This is shocking and saddening for all of us who knew him. He was respected and valued both personally and professionally, and will be greatly missed.

Ralph had a long history of dedication to workplace safety. He served as the vice-president of Prevention Services for WorkSafeBC, then as president and CEO from 1998 to 2003. In 2017, he joined us again as chair of our board of directors, where he continued to make a difference for the workers and employers of B.C. His contributions to our province were tremendous, and we honour him for those.

His family has asked for privacy at this time and will be providing more information later about service arrangements.

If you would like to send a message to the family, please contact Nicolette Gatzke at nicolette.gatzke@worksafebc.com and she will arrange for the message to be forwarded. A public message will be posted to our website.

Thank you,

Anne Naser
President & CEO

Press release here.

COCa offers our sincere condolences to Ralph’s family. He will be missed.
