A 250-tonne mobile crane on a marine barge experienced a failure, resulting in the 190-foot boom bending at the heel and gantry, and collapsing into the water off the starboard side of the vessel. The boom was cut from the crane and released into the ocean to prevent damage to the barge. No workers were injured.
