Last week WorkSafeBC launched a new publication, ‘Safe Work Practices in Residential Construction’, which is intended to assist those in the residential construction industry to promote safer workplaces. It also marked the beginning of a provincial initiative to create partnerships with associations and other jurisdictions to raise awareness about the requirement to submit a ‘Notice of Project’ when required, before it starts.
The publication provides information on working safely on residential construction sites, with a focus on the three main phases: planning, site preparation, and construction. Other safety topics include working at elevation, and tool and equipment safety.
Builders, prime contractors, employers, workers, and homeowners will find information about their roles and responsibilities, and safe work practices.
