Public hearings in June 2014 for proposed amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Regulation
The Board of Directors of WorkSafeBC approved public hearings to be held in June 2014 to consider the a number of proposed regulatory amendments.
The public hearings will provide stakeholders with an opportunity to comment on the proposed regulatory amendments. WorkSafeBC welcomes your feedback on the amendments either by written submission or participation at the oral public hearings. Written submissions will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014.
Please note that the public consultation phase is separate from the public hearing process. Accordingly, if you provided comments during consultation, and you wish your feedback to be considered during the public hearing process, please make another submission on the proposed amendments.

Systematic Reviews Request for Proposals (RFP)
WorkSafeBC is dedicated to achieving a vision of workers and workplaces safe and secure from injury, illness, and disease. To achieve this vision, WorkSafeBC, together with its partners, must encourage and support the development and use of the best scientific evidence on issues that workers, employers, and the organization itself face in seeking to prevent injury and illness, to return injured workers to health and to work, and to provide fair compensation.
The purpose of this competition is to develop a better understanding of the present state of knowledge on specific issues relating to:
- Osteoarthritis and work
- Asbestos-related lung disease and obstructive pulmonary disease
WorkSafeBC is soliciting proposals to synthesize the existing research, provide critical assessment of the present knowledge level, and possibly identify future knowledge needs in each of the areas specified in the RFP. The RFP is open to researchers worldwide.
