Are you an employer that works with asbestos in B.C.? You are invited to attend a webinar to learn about mandatory licensing and certification requirements that we are implementing to help keep workers safe from the dangers of asbestos.

What you will learn

As of January 1, 2024, all asbestos abatement contractors must be licensed to operate in B.C., and anyone performing asbestos abatement work must complete mandatory safety training and obtain certificates.

Christine Miller, Asbestos Licensing manager at WorkSafeBC, will provide you with an overview of the basics of licensing and certification, including:

Definition of asbestos abatement work

  • Who is required to have licence or certificate
  • Applying for a licenceMaintaining a licence
  • Finding an approved training providerLevels of certification
  • Assessments and exams
  • Recognition of previous training

You’ll also have an opportunity to ask questions after the presentation.
