Funding Opportunities:

New Initiatives Launching November 1: BCCWITT Project Grant and BCCWITT Career Advancement Bursary

We are excited to share with you that next month, BCCWITT will be launching TWO funding initiatives:

–          The BCCWITT Project Grant provides seed funding for Leaders in Trades program participants to organize, coordinate, and host initiatives that promote skilled trades careers to youth and equity priority people of all genders across British Columbia. This includes community members who are Indigenous, people of colour, 2SLGBTIAQ+, immigrants, people with disabilities, and women, and will help recruit people from these groups to the skilled trades sector in BC.

–          The BCCWITT Career Advancement Bursary provides funding for ALL equity priority tradespeople of all genders (including tradespeople who are Indigenous, people of colour, 2SLGBTIAQ+, immigrants, people with disabilities, women) in British Columbia who are facing barriers in advancing in their trades journey, to help them access training, certifications, networking, and educational opportunities.

New StrongerBC Future Skills Grant Program: Up to $3,500 for Up-skilling Courses

The StrongerBC future skills grant is open to British Columbians aged 19+ regardless of financial need and covers up to $3,500 per person for eligible short-term skills training at public post-secondary institutions. The grant will help learners access eligible short-term skills training to further their careers, upgrade their skills and enhance their productivity, giving them access to well-paid, high opportunity occupations. Many of the covered courses are very relevant to those in the trades, such as code courses and project management, as well as equity & inclusion, and leadership training courses. Learn more here.
