On October 18, 2017, WorkSafeBC’s Board of Directors (BOD) approved amendments to the application statement of the previously approved policy amendment for the Occupational Health and Safety Penalty Amounts Policy (D12-196-6). These policy changes in the Prevention Manual were originally approved by the Board of Directors on June 28, 2017.
The Board of Directors has revised the application statement so the revised policy now applies to “all administrative penalty decisions for violations occurring on or after March 1, 2016. This policy also applies to all appellate decisions made on or after July 4, 2017 with respect to violations occurring on or after March 1, 2016.”
The revisions made to the application statement reflect the intent of the June 28, 2017 policy changes, which are to only apply to those administrative penalty decisions for violations occurring on or after March 1, 2016.
