The WorkSafeBC Policy, Regulation and Research Department (PRRD) is releasing a discussion paper, with options and draft policy, on chronic pain.
WorkSafeBC policy states a worker’s chronic pain may be compensable when the pain results as a consequence of a work-related injury or disease. The PRRD is proposing amendments to policy to reflect medical literature and improve consistency in the adjudication, management, and treatment of chronic pain.
The discussion paper and information on how to provide feedback can be found here:
You’re invited to provide feedback on the options until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023. WorkSafeBC’s Board of Directors will consider stakeholder feedback before making a decision on the policy amendments.
