On June 11, the Province announced the re-implementation of mandatory Skilled Trades Certification. While the impact of these initial 10 trades certifications are minimal for the horizontal construction sector, we understand that this first round will create the framework for future program expansion.
It is important that the views and concerns of the Construction sector are communicated to government regarding the re-implementation of compulsory trades in BC.
ITABC will be gathering feedback related to the STC policy questions through an online comprehensive survey/workshop which will be available on ITABC.ca until September 10.
As a key stakeholder in B.C.’s trades training system we encourage you to take the time to complete the online survey/workbook as it is the best place for us to fully obtain your detailed input related to the specific policy areas that matter most to the Construction sector.
