WorkSafeBC held a virtual public hearing in January to discuss proposed changes to Part 20 – Washroom Facilities on Construction Sites. This proposal would amend the Regulation to require the provision of flush toilets on construction sites with 25 or more workers.
The Board of Directors requested changes to the draft regulation, and these changes require further public and stakeholder consultation and feedback. As a result, the regulation will not be in effect on May 1, 2024.
A second public hearing will be held on July 24. We will post information on how to participate and the new implementation date on worksafebc.com as soon as the details are available.
