WorkSafeBC is proposing amendments to Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (“OHSR”) Part 20, relating to notice of project.
A proposed amendments relating to notice of project requirements (with explanatory notes) is now posted for public consultation on the WorkSafeBC website at http://www.worksafebc.com/regulation_and_policy/policy_consultation/law_40_10_1260.asp.
The public consultation phase provides stakeholders an opportunity to provide written feedback on the proposed amendments. Note that COCA will be submitting a Construction industry response – if you are providing feedback directly to WorkSafeBC, please copy cheryl@cocabc.ca.
Written feedback submissions can be made via an electronic feedback form, e-mail, fax or mail and will be accepted until Thursday, March 31, 2016. (Click on the link above)
All feedback received during this consultation will be carefully reviewed, analyzed and provided to the Board of Directors of WorkSafeBC as part of its decision-making process to determine if the proposed amendments should proceed to public hearings. Your feedback at this stage is valuable because it could lead to revisions to the proposed amendments before public hearings planned for the fall of 2016. WorkSafeBC must hold public hearings pursuant to the Workers Compensation Act before OHSR amendments can become effective.
